Feeling Gratefully Overwhelmed
So I haven't left a blog entry in awhile. The laptop I am using during the day has a crash record so I don't trust it enough to compose an entry and risk losing it to a crash. Also, Jared's netbook has a super tiny keyboard (which I am using now) that makes me a slow typer.
Probably, Hopefully, Maybe Home Owners Tomorrow
We signed the papers today and it's scheduled to close tomorrow. Once it is recorded at the county recorder's office, it will be official! It's almost time to get excited!
Inching Closer to Non-Homelessness
The final inspection report from the engineer is in; we're just waiting for our bank to send the loan documents to the title company, sign paperwork, and then however long it takes to close!
A Blog Post NOT About Our Home Buying Misadventure
This whole home buying process is life consuming, especially since it's left us homeless for the last 23 days. Here are some cellphone pics not about the house:

Home Buying: 4th & Goal
The structural engineer will return to the home today during his lunch break to inspect the newly constructed columns and provide the final clear report required to fund the loan.
The bank is sending the documents to the title company "sometime this morning," and if all goes well, we may be signing paperwork very soon.
We are inching closer and closer; we may actually live somewhere, someday.
If you're ever in need of a good structural engineer in Phoenix, I would highly recommend Bill Gilbert of Structural Engineers LLC. He's been nothing but awesome to work with.
Repairs Taking Longer
The repairs to the patio columns will take longer than expected. Unexpectedly, the columns didn't have cement footings, which explains the cracks. The contractor says he'll finish Monday.
Still no final word from our bank regarding the loan.
Now the wheels are turning
6 days after seller verbally agreed to pay for the repairs, the paperwork is in. The construction began today and the loan will be submitted for final approval tomorrow. That's right: two things are now happening at the same time! It's a miracle!
If all goes well, the repairs should conclude this Friday and we might actually have a home some time next week.

Maxwell will reduce global warming by not playing the Wii because it gives off heat. Well, he won't play THAT much.
Elijah is fasting for Haiti.
Xander wrote a note to some teasing girls at the soccer field that read, "Girls whatever. Boys forever."
Jared did not like Elijah's solution, but it was good for a laugh (on the inside).
