Xander's drawing chosen

Xander's drawing chosen

Xander drew this eagle picture at school -- it was selected to be used on an invitation for the entire school (K-12) for an upcoming program.

Xander's new kicks

Over the weekend, we bought Xander a new pair of shoes. According to him, they allow him to run much faster than before. He was so confident of his newly acquired speed, he challenged everyone to a race. So yesterday, the family when to the park behind our house to accept the challenge and carry out our family race. Xander and Elijah are pretty close; however, Elijah is just a hair quicker. I think the whole family was surprised that I was still the fastest, broken leg and all. Both Xander and Elijah beat out Sara by a few steps and Maxwell, with a huge head start, may have won once.

"Japanish"

Yesterday after the two older boys' baseball practice, we picked up dinner at a restaurant near a popular strip mall. The boys and I waited in the car while Sara ran in to get the food. While we were waiting, a long-haired teenager with a pony tail on the top of his head came zipping by on a skateboard. Xander busted up laughing and said, "Look at that guy -- he's got silly hair. He kinda looks Japanish".

Sick days, sick days

Last week Jared was sick, missed work, and didn't leave bed for 2 whole days. He was sick longer than that but that is how long he was out of commission for. Now with Jared being sick first I knew the rest of us were in for it. Xander was the last to get it and it seems to have hit him like it did Jared. Xander keeps getting headaches. At one point he informed me, "I lost my headache." after I gave him medicine. I asked him if he was looking for it.

Did you know?

According to Xander, President Theodore Roosevelt was named after the Chipmunk Theodore. He was quite excited to see this. I explained to him yesterday that the president came first, but last night he still had to share with Dad that there is a president with the same name as one of the Chipmunks. Another fact the boys love is that one of the presidents was arrested. Now you have to figure out which one and for why.

Today on Anderson Planet . . .

This morning I saw Maxwell running down the hall buck naked. He had just gotten out of the bath. A little while later, from his room, he called out, "Wait a second!" He runs back to the bathroom, which I was in at that time and asks, "Hey, where is my towel?" Silly guy.
