Hey There!

Seriously I can not keep up with our blog and all of the changes. That's what I get for marrying a highly experimental computer guy. Jared has an interview this Tuesday for his current job. Sounds silly I know but it is all about what it takes to gain a permanent position and all of those wonderful government benefits. Please keep him and us in your prayers.

Silly Xander

I was sitting on the couch reading while the boys were playing in the next room. Maxwell comes out to enthusiastically explain their game which involves LEGO spaceships. Xander comes out all upset saying, "Where's my spaceship?" accusing Maxwell of taking his. Maxwell says, "That's my spaceship," and points to the large LEGO he sat down next to me. Xander again asked, "Where's my spaceship?" and Maxwell replies, "It's in your hand." Xander looks down at his hand and says, "Oh." and Maxwell and I burst out laughing. Xander was unable to suppress a giggle himself.

Maxwellisms

I just have a few Maxwellisms from the last while. Teaching your kids to read can be interesting. Maxwell and I were in a public restroom together and after we washed our hands he shouted, "Mom, we can use these napkins!" for drying our hands. I informed him they were that variety of napkins and then I had to answer a bunch of his questions.

Elijah's Write-Up About His Baptism Day

When I got baptized it felt so great. I forgot to keep my feet on the ground in the baptismal font. When I got confirmed it was so dark inside the circle. The confirmation is the part that you get the Holy Ghost. The baptism of immersion is for remission of sins and to show obedience to our Lord. I liked my mom's talk. I had so much fun at the Open House. Uncle Bryce baptized me. Grandpa Jensen confirmed me. Uncle Todd and Grandpa Ross were the witnesses.

Elijah is still allowed to use his knife but with Dad's supervision. Here he is smoothing out a piece of wood on our first day at the camp.

I promised a picture. I don't know how I kept it together to get him to the Urgent Care. Maxwell says it looks like spiders are on Elijah's finger.

First day at Camp

First day at Camp

Here are Xander and Maxwell enjoying some apple slices while we wait for friends to arrive. Diane and Dave arrived after 6 and Summer and Phillipe did not arrive until after 10. We don't even know how they found the campground after dark. We had a hard time during the day. Our directions were really bad though and we ended up stopping and asking at the Discovery Center where we received a clearer map and set of directions.

Camping Trip

We just finished our first ever family camping trip. We went to Big Bear Lake in California. Jared and the boys have been begging to go camping for years. I kept telling them to go without me but for whatever reason they wanted me along. When my friend Summer invited us to camp over Fourth of July Weekend I finally relented. Well, we did have a lot of fun and it was full of great experiences and beautiful nature, but I hate being dirty!
