Max at Hole-in-the-rock.

Max at Hole-in-the-rock.

Back to New Year's Eve:

We told the kids they could stay up until midnight. We would have a special family time. We watched Wall-E, the Christmas Claymation that creeps Jared out, some of the performances on the various countdown shows, and the countdown to 2009. I bought special drinks and snacks and we were ready to have fun. Maxwell didn't even come close to making it all the way until midnight. Elijah fell asleep around 10:30. Xander made it all the way to midnight. If it weren't for him I wouldn't have made it awake until midnight.

Open Letter to Jared and maybe a little entertainment for everyone else.

Dear Jared:

On your way home from work please purchase the toilet parts we have needed for months in the kids bathroom. Today I witnessed what devastation can occur when you procrastinate fixing a toilet. Maxwell and I were in a hurry getting ready to go to a meeting when I heard his cries of "Mom! The toilet is overfloating!" To which I responded, "Get out of the bathroom!" (he had just showered) as I ran to get what I needed to take care of it.

Jared and ET at Papago Park

On New Year's Eve we spent the day on the Temple grounds and in the visiting center. (actually just the afternoon) We followed that up with a trip to Papago Park where we completed the treacherous and difficult Hole-In-The Rock hike.

Okay maybe not so treacherous or even difficult and really more of a nature stroll since there are stairs the whole way up there and it is quite short but this pic makes it look treacherous and difficult.

Hole-In-The-Rock Trail
Length: Very short, about 1/10 of a mile.
Elevation gain: about 200 feet
Difficulty: easy

The boys built this towards the end of Winter Break. They were really proud and needed me to take their picture. They also built some turtles and I don't remember what else.

No title.

Sorry for all the silence this month. I was in charge of Sharing Time and also a Quarterly Activity for Primary. Also the boys are now doing soccer and baseball. We had the Rossels for a weekend visit. And overall it has just been busy.

dads and my website

dad and I are making a website that translates pig latin.

Elijah wrote this talk mostly by himself. I just edited and clarified.

Good Morning. My name is Elijah Anderson. I'm going to talk about families. First, I will talk about the first family. When Satan deceived Eve, he lied saying, “You won't surely die.” Eve and then Adam partook of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. After Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden they had to work hard for their family. They taught their many children the gospel and the ways of the Lord.

Dung Beetles are Important

This morning Elijah, Maxwell, and I ate cereal together like we do most mornings. It was early and quiet and everyone was still half asleep. Out of nowhere Maxwell said, "Did you know dung beetles are important? They are. They keep the earth clean. They eat poop."

Secrets of Droon

I love the Secrets of Droon.I like that there is three people that came to Droon and got\find out their powers. The many characters I know are the three who discovered Droon: Neal, Eric, and Julie. The people that lived in Droon are: Princess Keeah, Queen Relna, King Zello, Galen, Max and Urik. They are good. Sparr Ko and the ninns are evil. You should read it.

People can make me cranky sometimes.

Don't you love when people lie to you on the phone and you call them on it. I don't. I would rather they were honest with me in the first place, but that's beside the point and not what this entry is about.
