It's Wednesday!

Saturday we took the Metro into the city to go to the Science Center. Unfortunately we did not know they were having a free day so there was a line a mile long to get into the place. Jared and I aren't much for waiting in lines and we did not want to waste a trip downtown so after walking around a bit we decided to go to the game. The Diamondbacks lost and due to the lack of planning that goes into spontaneity it was one of our more expensive games, but we had lots of fun. The best find (which I plan on purchasing every time we go to the stadium was garlic fries from Gordon Biersch.

Tonight

Tonight the first counselor in the Bishopric came over. Fortunately he called only about a 1/2 hour ahead of stopping by so I didn't have time to stress out about his visit. Basically I was released from the Primary Presidency (so was the President). I am not really surprised and he even spoke of the drama we as a presidency have been having. I have never spoke to anyone in the ward about the drama and I didn't even know it existed until 2 weeks ago when the Primary President filled me in on it. I wish I would have had the guts to ask him what exactly he has heard. But I don't.

Today

Jared wants me to try to write a few sentences every day. I could just write: Maxwell talked my ears off again today and copy and paste for every day and it would be true (at least until July 27th when he starts school). I think I will be really lonely when that happens. Maxwell even talks my ears off when I can't really hear him. He stands outside the bathroom when I shower and will talk to me and I keep saying I can't hear you so he keeps talking louder and louder and I keep reiterating that I can't hear him.

Nicknames

The boys' baseball manager told the kids to come up with their own nicknames. (I think this idea has since fell to the wayside.) I was asking Elijah and Xander what they wanted. I suggested X-Man for Xander but he didn't go for it. He wanted Jamie. Weird.

Three Cups of Tea

"We breathed an air of utter satisfaction, of eternal peace. All this gives rise to a question. Isn't it better to live in ignorance of everything- asphalt and macadam, vehicles, telephones, television- to live in bliss without knowing it?" -Maraini

from my current Book Club book.

Short but sweet.

Jared set up a Google Reader for me. If you haven't done this yet you really must. It is awesome. So now instead of checking all the blogs individually I go to my Google reader from my gmail account and see if anyone has written anything new. It saves me a lot of time and hassle and I am less annoyed when people don't add anything new for long periods of time. I know that readers aren't new by any means but I am not really a techie and was rescued by my techie husband.

Some prizes I found because of my Reader . . .

I haven't been feeling very writey lately. I think I am suffering from life block.

Easter was wonderful. The Easter Bunny came and hid the eggs and left baskets for each of the children. Jared felt left out. The Easter Bunny filled stackable, sorting eggs with candy. We know because he left the egg carton for us to clean them up when we were finished emptying the eggs. We knew there were 48 eggs. Per usual the kids did not start the hunt until after church. It took hours and Jared and I kept recounting the eggs. We were short 3 eggs. The Easter bunny did not think he had hid any of the eggs that difficult. Jared and I couldn't even find the missing eggs.

Elijah's Book Bingo

At ILPs we learned Elijah would have an ongoing assignment for this quarter. He would need to read 5 moderately challenging books from different genres and complete 4 assignments and 1 project for them. After ILPs we immediately went to the library where Elijah and I spent a few hours figuring out what row he would complete. He really wanted to complete a box that held fable, tall tale, legend, or myth in it. This presented quite a challenge for me since the book had to be a chapter book that passed the five finger test of difficulty. We settled on the Jungle Books by Rudyard Kipling.

Maxwell's Testimone

I don't remember if I posted this yet. This happened either during February or March Fast and Testimony meeting. Maxwell on his own decided to get up and bare (bear) his testimony. We were late to church that morning and so we were sitting clear in the back. I was surprised and nervous. I asked him what he planned on saying. I asked him if he wanted me to go up there with him. He wanted to go up all by himself. I was still nervous for him once he was up there since I was not near enough in case he panicked.

Quick Entry

This morning Maxwell climbed into my bed. I like to tease him and he is the super, happy perky morning type. I said, "I'm going to give you a kiss attack!" He squealed, "No, don't! and then after a slight pause happily dared me to, "Do it!"
