Offer #3 - Update
The bank, whom you'd think would be eager to sell their "toxic asset", is, apparently, taking its time. Today, one week after we sent over our offer and a few days after that offer expired, they responded to say they'd be sending over a counteroffer. When? Who knows. Apparently, the counteroffer is identical to the one we sent, but they want $2000 earnest money instead of $1000. No changes to the bottom line.
First Day in California
Our first day in California was spent with the Rossels in Vista. In the afternoon we went swimming.
Maxwell the Murderer
Somehow Maxwell kept getting the Ace in our game of Murder. He would confess after killing one person. After explaining more thoroughly how it is done, he machine gunned us all down with a rapid wink/blink before anybody could stop laughing to out him as the murderer in following rounds.
Max's Cheezer at the 101
Max and Xander enjoyed Activity Books and crayons while we waited for our food. Elijah enjoyed adult conversation.

This is the restaurant we ate at our first night in Oceanside. Elijah really enjoyed being independent from Mom and Dad.
One of those large spider webs Jared didn't know about.
There is something so very wrong about this.
Chased by the Ladies
Xander has happily informed me the last two days that the girls chase him in recess. He loves it! They aren't allowed to kiss at their school. It cracks me up that this rule is even addressed in Elementary. But, I imagine, if they were allowed to kiss he would be getting several smooches a day.
More about House #3
Our contract was sent to the seller yesterday evening or early today. We should find out by the end of the week.
Here are more details about the third home we bid for. The attached floor plans are for a very similar model. Actually, it may be the exact same model, but we don't remember for sure. We've been through 3 million homes and they are all starting to blend together....

Jared's Project #1: knock out wall of "Bedroom 5" and make that area into a loft.
Sara's project #1: window blinds.
Xander says the before picture on a hair restoration infomercial looks just like Grandpa Anderson.
Jared thinks Elijah is crazy: only kids and tourists go swimming in double-digit temperatures.
Elijah is trying to convince his dad to go swimming too.
Maxwell is half swimming, half shivering on the deck.
