Back to New Year's Eve:

We told the kids they could stay up until midnight. We would have a special family time. We watched Wall-E, the Christmas Claymation that creeps Jared out, some of the performances on the various countdown shows, and the countdown to 2009. I bought special drinks and snacks and we were ready to have fun. Maxwell didn't even come close to making it all the way until midnight. Elijah fell asleep around 10:30. Xander made it all the way to midnight. If it weren't for him I wouldn't have made it awake until midnight.

The downside was that Jared wanted us all up and ready to leave on New Year's to have some vacation fun. We had 3 days of fun times all because of Jared and his desire to go.
