Jared's the new Blogging Winner . . .

But he was at the computer when Maxwell "tattled" on Xander and I said, "Blog that now!" We were at the computer looking at a few more houses and as usual Jared has to be the "driver" of the computer when we are Internetting together.

Looking at houses and searching for houses to look at is a lot more time consumptive than either Jared and I thought. This is what happens when you don't trust a Realtor to make the decisions for you as to what houses you should see. Looking at four houses on Saturday took us the entire day. One of the houses was beautiful with a perfect layout but no yard (move-in ready but with a ton of projects to fill up our next five years) and another had a humongous yard but the house sucked (I was also getting ill just being inside it). We saw a clown house where every room was painted a different color and sometimes more than one color. My favorite part was they had a bright blue accent wall in the kitchen where the rest of the walls were painted a brilliant shade of yellow. They took the time to take the vent down from one of the yellow walls and paint it the accent blue. Also after spending all this money and time painting they did not take the time to cover the carpets or edge properly or remove the moldings. They did, however, take the time to remove every ceiling fan and most light fixtures. The first house we saw was at least 600 square feet smaller than the listing, the layout stunk, and it had less usable space than our current residence. We had 2 more houses that we planned on seeing that day but one our Realtor couldn't get a hold of the tenants to ask permission (they are moving out this week so we will see it on Saturday); the other our Realtor has still not been able to get a hold of the Seller's Agent despite multiple phone messages and emails.

We discovered that our Realtor had put a minimum listing price on the houses he was showing us so Jared emailed him and asked him to remove the minimum. That got us one more house that we are looking at today. It is in the neighborhood nearest the school I am hoping to get the boys into next year and near ASU East. If we moved anywhere out there Jared would start trying to get a job at ASU East and Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

I have to leave now and pick up Jared to go see the next house. I know if we keep looking we will find our perfect house with the perfect amount of projects for us. If we don't, then buying a house now isn't what is best for us. I was joking that we should "hire" Jennie to do the initial walk-throughs for us and let us know if we should then walk through. My goodness, this is wearing me out.
