Trading Turkeys

Yesterday we went to the Baileys for Thanksgiving. We have determined that this will be an annual tradition. We have gone to their house for more Thanksgivings than not since we have all lived here and it has been a lot of fun. I provided 2 pies and the Trader Joe's cranberry sauce; Ellen provided the gravy, fruit salad, and clam dip, Todd provided the Turducken and stuffing, and Carey provided potatoes, coconut cream pie, apple crisp, homemade white bread, etc.

We came home with some leftovers and had a really fun time. Brigham still loves Jared and I so very much; Lucy is scared of us. We made her cry several times just by her seeing us.

Seth made a Thanksgiving centerpiece at school this week and informed his mom that it was for the Andersons since Elijah brought them one last year. Elijah spent the week planning his Thanksgiving centerpiece to take over to Aunt Carey. He came up with it all on his own and spent his own time at home making it. The tail feathers said different things we might be thankful for like our bodies, brains, the atmosphere, etc. with a discussion question of What are you thankful for? Elijah wanted us to have a discussion game of what we are thankful for. It was 20 Questions format with each of us trying to figure out what someone was grateful for. Noah was thankful for socks, I was thankful for family, Jared was thankful for me, etc. Brigham and Lucy were the only ones who didn't have a turn. I took it upon myself to ask Brigham what he was thankful for. First, I asked are you thankful for your Diego truck fully expecting a yes answer since it is currently his favorite toy. "No!" Second, I don't remember but the answer was a definite no. Last, I asked if he was thankful for Aunt Sara (I expected a no just because of his 2 previous responses), but I got a big, "Yes!"

It was fun to see the boys with a now 1 year old Lucy. She isn't scared of them. I can't wait to see them with Andie.

Carey and I went for a walk. Jared played football with Noah and some of the other kids. Jared checked out Todd's new Droid. Jared and Todd talked about Mountain Biking. Todd ran a 10 K that morning. Todd is working his way up to a full marathon by his birthday which is super exciting. Todd, Ellen and I talked about books, and the kids ran free. All of the kids tried to talk us into a sleepover. We watched Thanksgiving Charlie Brown and Mayflower Charlie Brown. We had the requisite pumpkin pie (a giant one from Costco) which turned out to be Seth and Maxwell's favorite. Basically it was another great Thanksgiving.
