Merry Christmas Eve!

We have a home inspection scheduled for today on the house we are hopefully going to succeed at buying. We still don't have the signed contract and now the Seller's Agent and our agent are trying to figure out a way to get the carpet for the house. We probably will be doing the ordering of the new carpets with the selling bank paying up to $3000 for it. This has to be complete before it closes so if we were to buy anything over the $3000 we would risk losing our money. It also makes it so we have to get the carpet in before we can paint, clean, and repair, but we will take what we can get. Hopefully the carpet method will be agreed upon by Monday. FHA doesn't want us receiving a check for $3000 at the closing.

I am also going to try to bake 1 to 2 varieties of cookies with the boys today. I would start now but I am not fully awake yet and bad things happen when you try to measure and think before you are awake. If I still drank coffee or even Dr. Pepper regularly I would say bad things happen before the caffeine hits my brain. Sometimes bad things happen like erasing a well thought out blog entry.

The neighborhood is becoming more to our liking. We don't think there is any through streets so that helps with bike safety. Also there is a large park not that far from the house. We learned that 3 years ago the house sold. The owners before that are the ones who were taking good care of the house and upgrading slowly. The owners after that are the nasty ones with yucky pets that hung at least 1 TV in every room/space. Seriously who owns 5 or more TVs and why?

We finally went to Carolina's in downtown Phoenix together as a family. The tortillas are delicious and I don't really like tortillas. Our food was really good and so was the salsa. It took me a few bites to get over the grease but once I did that it was perfect. We were also going to go to Encanto Park which is the premiere park of Phoenix but it decided to rain hard so we drove around the park to see if it was something we would like to check out later and then drove to the house we are trying to buy. I guess we will just have to eat at Carolina's another day during this Winter Break. We were able to make sure there weren't any leaks which is pretty convenient considering how rarely it rains here. The roof was new in 2003 so I wasn't too worried about that.
